Dervish Empty
PostSubject: Dervish   Dervish Icon_minitimeSat Jun 16, 2007 4:18 am

As holy warriors of the gods, dervishes have very powerful attacks, and their strong self-healing skills make them effective front line attackers.

When choosing secondary skills, always remember that native skills often have better synergy with the profession's purpose, interact better with the profession's other skills, and benefit from runes.

Warrior

- Rush can be used as a speed buff. Dervish speed buffs are generally weak.
- Wild Blow is also very useful, as its drawbacks are easy to avoid, and critical hits are more powerful with a Scythe.
- Distracting Blow is a useful interrupt.
- Flail and other IAS (Increase Attack Speed) skills can help overcome the slow attack speed of a scythe.

Ranger

- It is very tempting to consider using a scythe to spread poison with Apply Poison. However, the health degeneration of poison alone is not worth the skill slot (compared to other Dervish skills that deal damage), even with no attribute points diverted away to Wilderness Survival.

Elementalist

- The defensive enchantments of the Earth Magic line, such as Armor of Earth, Stoneflesh Aura and Obsidian Flesh, allow exceptional Tanking in the more difficult areas of the Nightfall campaign, such as the Domain of Anguish.
- While wielding a fiery, icy or shocking scythe, you could use Conjure Flame, Conjure Frost or Conjure Lightning to add additional damage.

Monk

- Dervishes can benefit from Mending Touch.
- Repeatable resurrection spells are often beneficial in PvE.

Necromancer

- Necromancer Orders work well with Mysticism.

Assassin

- Shadow stepping Skills such as Shadow Walk are useful for coordinated spikes.
- Dash can be used as a no-attribute speed boost.
- Disrupting Dagger is a useful interrupt.

Ritualist

- Sight Beyond Sight can be paired with Extend Enchantments for immunity to blindness.
- Repeatable resurrection spells are often beneficial in PvE.

Paragon

- Remedy Signet can be useful condition removal.
